Cad Spinner, the wildfire
Muir is an old steam locomotive who works on a heritage railway at Piston Peak National Park.
In Planes: Fire & Rescue, he is seen puffing along a train track as Dusty Crophopper flies past him. Later, when fire breaks out at the park, Muir pulls a train full of tourists evacuating the park. His track is blocked when a burning tree falls across it. Dusty later puts out the tree, and Muir pushes it aside and keeps going, getting the visitors safely out of the park.
He is predominantly black, gold and gray, and sports red wheels arranged in a 2-6-0 wheel arrangement.
- Unlike Pramath in Planes, Muir's mouth is on the front of his smokebox instead of his cowcatcher.
- Muir appears to be loosely based on the real steam locomotive Virginia & Truckee No. 20 "Tahoe", which was built in 1875 and is now on display at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania.
- There are a few shots in the movie where the animation on Muir's running gear is messed up, and his rods move incorrectly. Also, in one of these shots, his front set of drivers isn't turning while the other two are.
